Harry Chapin Food Bank Nearing End of $5.1 Million Capital Campaign

Tags: Capital Campaign, donors, Donate

It’s official!  We are nearly a million dollars past the half-way mark of the “Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope” Capital Campaign!  And what does that mean for all our neighbors in need?  It means that we can move food more efficiently now with our new equipment.  It means that we don’t need to turn away food because we don’t have the room to store it – because we have an expanded freezer. And it means that we can make improvements to the warehouse so that our volunteers can sort and repack even more food for the people who  need it.

The campaign is raising funds through individual donations, pledges from companies and grants from corporations and foundations.  These donors reflect the diverse people and groups who support the food bank.  This group has one common goal – to end hunger in Southwest Florida.

Thank you to everyone who has brought us this far!  We could not have distributed nearly 20 million pounds of food in 2015 without your help.  We look forward to announcing the end of the campaign and reaching our goal of $5.1 million in 2016.

To make a donation to the capital campaign, contact Kelli King, Capital Campaign Director, at 239-334-7007 ext. 202 or visit www.harrychapinfoodbank.org/capital-campaign/.
