    I feel pride and sadness whenever I attend a Harry Chapin Food Bank mobile pantry. It warms my soul to see volunteers and HCFB staff provide the bags of fresh fruits, vegetables and meat that stave off hunger for another few days or a few weeks, but an ominous chill upsets that warmth.   • It’s Getting Cooler in Collier County…Brrr!

    At least, that is, at the Harry Chapin Food Bank’s Collier County warehouse.We have recently installed a new industrial-sized freezer in our Naples warehouse located at 2221 Corporation Blvd. This addition will allow the Harry Chapin Food Bank to store and distribute a larger quantity and higher quality of food. Items such as poultry, beef, pork and other frozen goods will now be readily available to our more than 25 partner agencies in Collier County.

    The Chamber of Southwest Florida's Leadership Lee County Class of 2012, a program of The Chamber of Southwest Florida, raised more than $10,000 at its Big BBQ & Bash event, held January 24 at Harley-Davidson of Fort Myers.
