Experienced finance executive joins Southwest Florida’s largest hunger-relief organization during a period of growth and expansion

Fort Myers, FL – October 7, 2026 – Harry Chapin Food Bank has named Vennitta Campbell its new chief financial officer, bringing more than 25 years of finance and accounting experience to the organization as it prepares to move into its new Fort Myers Hunger Action Center and advance its capital campaign for Naples.

Campbell’s background spans nonprofit organizations, construction, healthcare, banking and property management. Her expertise includes financial planning and reporting, budgeting, grant compliance, auditing, internal controls and operational improvements. As CFO, she will help align the food bank’s financial resources with its mission and support the long-term sustainability of its programs and facilities.

“Strong financial leadership is about making sure an organization has the resources and infrastructure necessary to fulfill its mission,” said Campbell. “What attracted me to Harry Chapin Food Bank is the direct connection between financial stewardship and helping people access food. I am excited to support the organization’s growth and help ensure that today’s investments strengthen our ability to serve the community tomorrow.”

Campbell most recently served as controller at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, known as Collaboratory, where she oversaw financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, cash flow management and audit coordination. Previously, she served as chief financial officer at Healthy Start Coalition of Southwest Florida, directing financial operations for nonprofit and government-funded programs. Her experience also includes leadership roles at GATES Construction and the University Hospital of the West Indies.

She holds a Master of Business Administration in accounting from Keiser University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and financial management from the University College of the Caribbean.

“Vennitta brings extensive financial expertise and a clear understanding of how sound financial management supports our mission,” said Richard LeBer, president and CEO of Harry Chapin Food Bank. “As we prepare to open our new Fort Myers Hunger Action Center and build support for our Naples expansion, her experience will help us make informed decisions, strengthen our operations and responsibly manage the resources entrusted to us.”

Campbell succeeds Steve Soucy, who is retiring after serving as the food bank’s CFO for nearly 10 years. Soucy will remain as a consultant to support the leadership transition, the move into the new Fort Myers facility and the organization’s work on the Naples capital campaign.

“Steve’s leadership has helped establish the financial foundation that makes this next chapter possible,” LeBer added. “We are grateful for his nearly decade of service and for his continued guidance during this important transition.”

Campbell began her new role on Monday, October 5, working with Soucy and the leadership team to support a smooth transition and the food bank’s next phase of growth.
