The Harry Chapin Food Bank has the perfect event for you and your family to attend this weekend. We invite Southwest Florida families to participate in our Family Volunteer Day from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5.
The event will be held both at the food bank’s Fort Myers Distribution Center, 3760 Fowler St., and our Collier County Center, 3940 Prospect Ave. #101, Naples.
The free event is open to families with children age 10 and older. They will receive a tour of our facilities and learn how the food bank works to feed about 28,000 people per week. Participants will also pack food items for the clients we serve. They can also create designs and decorate paper bags that contain food for our senior program.
Volunteers not only enjoy spending quality time with their families, they walk away with the good feeling that comes from knowing they helped those in need.
