Casey and Lila came to the pantry on their bikes. Casey’s bike had a little cart attached to carry their food and their meagre belongings. The couple had recently been evicted, spent the last of their money on a motel room, and had slept outside for the past five or six days, Casey said. During that time, Lila’s one suitcase full of clothing was stolen.
Meanwhile, Lila lost her part-time job at a hotel. Casey said he is waiting for his disability check to come in so they can find a place to live.
