Today, we join so many across our community in mourning the loss of Brian West, Manager of Community Relations for the Publix Lakeland Division, which includes our service area. Brian was a longtime supporter, partner, and friend of Harry Chapin Food Bank whose commitment to helping others could be seen in everything he did. As our primary liaison with Publix, our largest single food donor, Brian played an important role in a partnership that has helped provide millions of meals for our neighbors facing hunger. Through his leadership and commitment to service, he helped strengthen the connection between organizations working toward the same goal: caring for our community. The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels stepped up to the plate in our warehouse, helping pack more than 2,273 bags and nearly 5,000 pounds of fresh produce. That food is now headed to multiple distributions and partner agencies to help feed our neighbors. Thank you for being part of the team.
