Holiday wish lists may look a little different for our neighbors facing hunger this year. Along with full stockings, we want local families in need to have full pantries and refrigerators with food to put meals on the table.
Here at Harry Chapin Food Bank, we strive to create Hunger-Free Holidays!
High food costs and supply chain disruptions are adversely affecting food banks and household budgets, intensifying our neighbors’ struggles. More people than ever before are turning to Harry Chapin Food Bank to help make ends meet — and we’re seeing new faces every day.
This year, your gift will brighten the holidays for hardworking people and families facing hunger.
This holiday season and beyond, you will help neighbors like Mary and her family. Mary’s husband is disabled, and the family relies on our food distributions for everything her family needs each month — fresh fruit, juices, cereals, and items for the kids.“I try to make do with what we have, but we always end up running out,” she says. The distributions are a lifeline for her and her family. “This is a wonderful thing, and I want to give a big thank you to Harry Chapin Food Bank for being able to provide this and also to the volunteers here who are so nice.” Mary continues, “The distributions really help families make ends meet in these tough times. We can’t thank you enough!”
And the holiday season — when so much centers on gathering over a meal — can create even more uncertainty and stress for our neighbors facing hunger.
You can help spread holiday cheer and create Hunger-Free Holidays!
Please help us create Hunger-Free Holidays by giving generously today. Your gift of $25 will provide up to 50 meals, or your above-and-beyond donation of $100 will provide up to 200 meals! Because of our bulk purchasing power and strategic partnerships with major manufacturers and retailers, Harry Chapin Food Bank can stretch your donation to nourish even more families. Thank you for standing with us in our mission to nourish our neighbors like Mary and her family in the fight to end hunger.
Together, we can make this holiday season a truly memorable and hunger-free one — filled with joy and the generosity of giving back. Wishing you and yours all the very best this holiday season.
