Please join the worldwide movement to respond to the commercialization and consumerism during the post-Thanksgiving season by making a gift on #GivingTuesday to Harry Chapin Food Bank.
Our community just celebrated a day of giving thanks, followed by the traditional holiday shopping day of Black Friday. Cyber Monday is coming up.
But Tuesday, Dec. 3 is #GivingTuesday, a day to step back from the holiday hustle and bustle. #GivingTuesday began eight years ago, and has become a worldwide movement to celebrate and encourage giving to others. It always falls on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Some refer to it as the formal kickoff to the holiday giving season.
Whatever you may call it, Tuesday, Dec. 3, is a day aimed at bringing diverse groups of individuals and communities together for the same cause: to cultivate the spirit of giving. More than 160 countries celebrate #GivingTuesday. We invite you to participate in caring for our own community by visiting harrychapinfoodbank.org to support our mission: To lead our community in the fight to end hunger.
