Double the determination to make a difference
Twins Adriana and Declan DiMarino, age 16, were home from school due to the pandemic and decided to hold an impromptu food drive. They set up buckets in their front yard to hold the donations, and posted it on social media.
“We knew other people weren’t getting what they need and we thought we could help, since we had the extra time,” Adriana said. They brought in 121 pounds of food and raised $520.
Mom Tricia DiMartino said she is proud of them. “Through this, they’ve seen people’s good nature, generosity and kindness. They’re seeing community-based giving and they realize they can be part of it, not disconnected from it.”
