Walmart’s 2019 “Fight Hunger. Spark Change” national campaign starts today (Monday, April 22) and continues through May 20 to help Feeding America and its network of 200 food banks, including the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida.

This annual campaign raises awareness of hunger issues and has already secured 749 million meals for Feeding America Food Banks over the last five years. The goal of this sixth annual campaign is to reach 1 billion meals. Walmart kicked off the campaign with a donation of $3 million. You can participate by purchasing participating products or donating at your local Walmart or Sam’s Club.

Here’s how:

  • Product purchase: Walmart is partnering with 18 of its suppliers, which will donate the equivalent of one meal for each of their participating products sold. The suppliers include General Mills, Kellogg, Kraft Heinz, PepsiCo, Post, Hidden Valley, JM Smucker and others. The funds raised locally will benefit Harry Chapin Food Bank.
  • Register giving: In addition, consumers may donate to the campaign when checking out at their local Walmart or Sam’s Club, with the funds benefiting Harry Chapin Food Bank.
  • Donate online at feedingamerica.org/Walmart
