In a year of such uncertainty, as many are faced with insurmountable challenges, one of the silver linings we’ve heard from our families is that they are able to gather together more often around a meal. While their meals are simple, the opportunity to support each other as they share their dreams, goals and challenges, is more abundant. Because of Harry Chapin Food Bank, at these dinner tables, love is abundant.

The main ingredient that enables Harry Chapin Food Bank to feed a quarter of a million people each month is love. That love is woven into all of the critical components of our recipe that provides food to those who are hungry.

We believe that food is love.

It’s the love from our volunteers who commit their time and energy to ensure families don’t have to go hungry. If you are well, able, and willing to volunteer, please click here to sign up.

It’s the love from our retail store partners and farmers, who provide much of the food distributed to families in our community.

It’s the love given to those who are hungry by our partner agencies, and the love they get back from the children, seniors and families they are feeding each day whom are grateful. If you are looking for food, please click here.

It’s the love generously given from our funders who provide the financial ingredients necessary to store, transport and purchase the food we distribute.

It’s the love lavishly shown from our food bank colleagues who work tirelessly to ensure that no one has to go hungry.

Every facet of your food bank includes love. We are incredibly grateful to be a conduit for this love as together we meet the needs of the more than a quarter of a million people who are hungry each month.

This week, we lovingly distributed 994,332 pounds of food into our five-county footprint. And we celebrate the love shared by the Community Foundation of Collier County and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation as they present a campaign built on the idea that everyone can be a philanthropist.

Next Wednesday and Thursday, February 10 and 11, 2021, Give Where You Live Collier, a 24-hour fundraiser begins at noon and will be live online until noon Thursday.

Even if you don’t live in Collier County, you can still make a meaningful gift to support Harry Chapin Food Bank. Together we can make a difference.

Make a gift by visiting https://www.givewhereyoulivecollier.org/organizations/harry-chapin-food-bank-of-southwest-florida starting at noon on February 10, 2021.
