This week, Lois Thome, Harry Chapin Food Bank Board Member and WINK News anchor, sat down with Kari Lefort, Director of Programs, to discuss the state of our food distribution programs. Our food distribution programs are feeding more than a quarter of a million people each month. The scope and scale of how much food we need to buy is overwhelming. Our spending on food has increased from about $37,500 per month to $1,000,000 per month. Our food distribution has ballooned by 83 percent to help feed the quarter of a million people who are hungry each month in our five-county footprint.
We are grateful to the many who continue to partner with us in the fight to end hunger. Together, we are achieving miracles for more than a quarter of a million people in Southwest Florida.
