“Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.” These sage words by James Cash Penny are evident in our efforts to feed more than a quarter of a million people who are hungry each month.

October was another record-breaking month for the food bank. Your food bank distributed a total of 4.2 million pounds of food into our five-county footprint which is nearly a half million-pound increase from the month of September. That is simply incredible.

Our fleet of 23 trucks have traveled a total of 29,815 miles in October which is an increase from monthly pre-Covid mileage rates. Our fleet utilizes a sophisticated GPS system that is designed to maximize mileage and reduce wear and tear on our trucks. These trucks delivered the 3.5 million meals that we provided in October to those who are hungry.

Our incredible change makers have given us a total of 5,995 hours while working in our warehouses, distribution sites and even in our offices in October. We are still struggling with finding enough people who are well, able and willing to volunteer, so if you can join us, please click here to sign up.

Your food bank is incredibly grateful to those who give to us so generously. We are grateful to the 565 people who have given us their time in the month of October. Thank you for being our partner in ensuring that no one has to go hungry. Together we are making a tremendous difference.
